The Pipetter Robotic Assembly

The major activity of the BCM-HGSC is high-throughput DNA sequence generation and the accompanying analysis. The center currently operates all the available sequencing machines (AB Sanger and SOLiD, 454 Life Sciences, Illumina, Pacific Biosciences and Ion Torrent).

The generation and analysis of the sequence data generated by these machines entails not only development and refinement of new laboratory protocols, but also robotics support, laboratory information management systems, and bioinformatics development for both analysis and genome assembly.
