Drosophila melanogaster Genome Project
About the project
In a collaborative effort with the Berkeley Drosophila Genome Project (BDGP) and Celera Genomics, we have mapped and sequenced the euchromatic portion of the Drosophila melanogaster genome. Release of the drosophila sequence was in 2002 (link). The Drosophila Genome Project was funded by the National Human Genome Research Institute, National Cancer Institute, and Howard Hughes Medical Institute.
Access to the Data
BLAST searches are available.
Flybase BLAST - Searches all Drosophila reads and provides links to the individual matched sequences through the NCBI.
Clones are available from BACPAC resources.
